A. First, keep the wick trimmed to about a quarter-inch. Second, use a dish under your candle in case of a meltdown. Third, don't let a candle burn all day or all night...give it a rest every few hours.
Q. Can candles stain furniture?
A. Yes, the fragrance oil and color may 'sweat' a bit out of the candle, so a dish should be used under the candle to protect the table.
Q. Are candles safe?
A. A candle can be safely used when it is burned away from other materials on a plate or other surface with enough volume to hold a melted candle. Forgetting to blow out a candle could lead to a meltdown which should be contained. Also keep your candle out of reach of children and pets and don't let it burn without supervision.
